The Windows Section -- Arches National Park, Utah

This post shows an early morning visit to the Windows Section of Arches National Park.  The Windows Section includes broad vistas of the landscape as well as three prominent arch structures -- North Window, Turret Arch, and Double Arch.  One parking lot about 3 miles off the main roadway serves the three features.  The area covered about 3 miles of hiking.

This is the view of South Window and Turret Arch from the base of North Window.

This view through Turret Arch is a common photograph.  The view can only be seen from high up on the base of North Window.

Rainstorms the night before left several pools of water on the rocks.  I spent lots of time exploring the reflections in the pools.

After leaving the North and South Windows area I walked from the parking lot to the Double Arch.

This was on the trail toward the double arch as seen in the background.

This is the view from the base of Double Arch, high above the trail.  I did climb further into the arch to get a view out the other side and could see the valley below.  However I did not reach the top and had to have someone spot my footholds on the way down.  Didn't want to fall 20 feet and then roll 100 feet further!  All in all this was a great morning for hiking and photography!
